EDIT: I should probably mention what I thought of for this scene. So Kakashi is reading his book(totally not perverted by the way) while Shikamaru goes on about missions and other boring important stuff he should be paying attention to. So then, being the smart one, Shikamaru tests his, uhum, friend by slipping into the stream of conversation the words 'kiss me.' And Kakashi does! Guess he was listening!~
